The parks and gardens of Anjou through history

From 8 April to 31 October 2017

Published at 14/03/2017

Amongst the vines of Duke René and the Odyssée Botanique, go on a journey to discover the "parks and gardens of Anjou" by strolling through an exhibition of large-format photos immersed in a new itinerary at the heart of the flagship plants of Anjou (camellias, rhododendrons, magnolias, hortensias, etc.). Based on the inventory work and the book produced by Isabelle Lévêque, garden historian, and by the Conservation Départementale du Patrimoine du Département de Maine-et- Loire, the exhibition offers a promenade through time and through the landscapes of Anjou. Combining the history of Anjou, of the art of gardens, of architecture, of landscape, and of horticulture, it unveils the richness and variety of several public and private sites, ranging from the gardens of Duke René to the latest contemporary creations.
